Meeting Minutes March 2008
Meeting Minutes March 4, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by club president Steve Schulze, N9UDO.
This is the first meeting since November, as the December and January meetings were called due to severe winter weather.
Steve reviewed the minutes from our last meeting which was in November.
Old business was the Christmas party. Steve sent out a questionnaire via email and received very little response. The Christmas party was canceled.
Other old business concerned the SwapFest. The fairgrounds have been reserved for Saturday August 9, 2008.
Brad, KB9VMC took the floor and discussed the D Star repeater. Due to antenna configurations and the fact that Brad may not always own the tower in the future, he is
trying to come up with a solution that won't cost the club over the $2,000 committed. Brad recommended going to UHF rather than VHF. UHF will present less interference and intermod problems as well as a better configuration with his combining system. Bob, W9MZ moved that the club go with a UHF D star repeater for which we already have a frequency pair. Second by Wayne, W9YYZ. Motion carried unanimously.
Under new business Steve mentioned that he is hosting operations for the annual Wisconsin QSO party at his house. Everyone is welcome to come and operate or just watch. This will also give the Techs an opportunity to work HF. Antenna party at 11:00am and the contest starts at 1:00pm local time and runs to 8:00pm.
The club has been invited to participate in the annual boy scout Circus Heritage Days at the fairgrounds on May 17. We will play ham radio including HF and are looking into another balloon launch.
Steve mentioned that so far 24 members have renewed their membership.
We also have 4 life members.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 1. 'No fooling!'
