Meeting Minutes March 2011


Meeting Minutes - March 1, 2011

 

This meeting was called to order by President Tom Harrison (N9PQJ) at 7:30p.m.

The minutes from the meeting on January 7, 2011 were distributed and reviewed. Steve Schulze (N9UDO) motioned to accept the minutes as published. Dave Spearing (KB9CSW) seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.

Don Evenson (K9JYX) was absent and the treasurer’s report was not given.


Old Business:

Steve (N9UDO) is continuing work on the AllStar system which will allow the group to play ARRL audio news over the air. The system can also be used to link to and from a number of different systems. Drew (KC9LJK) motioned to allocate $400 for Steve (N9UDO) to purchase the computer and other equipment necessary to construct a fully operational AllStar node. Nathan (KC9TUX) seconded and it was passed by a unanimous vote.


New Business:

Steve (N9UDO) forwarded an email from Tom at the NWS Sullivan thanking Yellow Thunder for allowing the NWS to use the 147.315 repeater as part of their backbone network in the past and that they would like to continue to do so in the future.

The Yellow Thunder Amateur Radio Club Circus City Swapfest is officially listed on the ARRL website.

The Wisconsin QSO party is planned for Saturday, March 13th from 1pm – 8pm.

Dave (KB9CSW) motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:15p.m. The motion was seconded by Bill (KC9CVD) and passed unanimously.

Our next meeting will be held Tuesday, April 5th, 2011
