Meeting opened at 7:30 by Steve, N9UDO, President.
Minutes of the April meeting were approved as read and published.
Treasurer's report: $xx58.10 plus 580.00 in dues = total xx38.10. Paid insurance premium to State Farm Insurance for Liability of 325.00, Leaving a balance of $xx13.10.
Old Business:
Circus Heritage Days to be held on May 21-23 at the Sauk County Fairgrounds. On the 22nd, we will be setting up a demonstration of a weather /amateur radio balloon flight. We are shooting for a 10am launch, with setup starting around 7:30. We will have live streaming video, still photos, video, APRS, GPS, and cross-band repeater on board. Our club is supplying the gas to fill the balloon up. NBC 15 news has been contacted, and will hopefully will be sending a reporter to interview Joe, WB9SBD. Stay tuned for updates.
Last meeting we had Todd Sprinkman give us a program on VHF and UHF weak signal nets. The presentation is available on the website.
New Business:
We have 2 new members. Drew Smith, KC9LJK, a Tech from Baraboo, and Nathan Murray, KC9SGC, a Tech from Portage. WELCOME!!!
Harry Preister, W9FBO who has lived north of the Dells, has allowed his family to move him into an assisted living home in Baraboo. He would appreciate visitors and cards.
Field Day is scheduled for June 26, and 27. Set up is the 25th. We will again be at Owen Park, between Baraboo and Portage. We will be setting up on Friday evening, and camping out over the 2 nights. The contest starts at 1pm Saturday, and goes till 1pm Sunday. All are welcome to come and operate the equipment, no matter the class of license you have. It is a great way to be introduced to HF for the Techs out there.
The approximate final cost for the D-Star Bill will be around 3400.00 before returning the part not needed for a refund. We will be updated when the FINAL bill comes in.
