Meeting Minutes - October 6, 2009

The meeting was called to order by President, Steve Schulze (N9UDO) at 7:30 p.m. The minutes from the meeting on September 1, 2009 were distributed and reviewed. Gary Sorensen (W9ULK) made a motion to accept the minutes as presented, and Don Evenson (K9JYX) seconded the motion. A vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. Treasurer Don Evenson (K9JYX) reported that our account balance is $xxx6.36. There are no outstanding bills. Old Business: Executive Committee elections were held. By unanimous vote (10-0), all current board members have been re-elected. For the coming year, President is Steve Schulze (N9UDO), Vice-President is Tom Harrison (N9PQJ), Treasurer is Don Evenson (K9JYX), and Secretary is Jane Steinweg (N9JAS). The Executive Committee will also appoint a Member-at-Large in the next few weeks. The new S-COM 7330 controller has been ordered at a cost of $474.00. It should arrive in the next week or two, and the installation process will begin shortly thereafter. The 145.310 repeater is currently running at Steve's (N9UDO) house. While the footprint is quite a bit smaller, the assigned frequency pair is in use and not in danger of being recalled by W.A.R. Discussion continues regarding the electric costs of several Amateur Radio repeaters at the tower. New Business: The engineering process has been started for including the VHF D-STAR repeater in the existing combiner. Yellow Thunder A.R.C. has previously dedicated up to $2000.00 for this project. We are also keeping our eye on a possible UHF D-STAR repeater. The holidays are quickly approaching. After some discussion, Tom (N9PQJ) proposed a party date of January 16, 2010. This was seconded by Don (K9JYX) and approved by unanimous vote. Research your favorite restaurant and report back to the group at the next meeting! Don (K9JYX) made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:00 p.m. This was seconded by Tom Yager (KC9NJP) and passed by unanimous vote. Our next meeting will be November 3, 2009.
